Methodology: Agile (Jira and Confluence)
Scope: Migration of Microservices, Databases and Airflow components from DCOS (running in private Cloud) to Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Responsibilities:
– Migration of multiple Airflow DAGs
– Update and maintenance of multiple components source code from GIT to Microsoft DevOps.
– Testing of migrated components.

Methodology: Agile (Jira and Confluence)
Scope: Re-platforming an existing Oracle system into the Big Data Factory (BDF Cloud). The system has to process billions of transactional and projected records on a monthly basis. It was implemented in Spark with Scala code using a large distributed Hadoop cluster. The project required the implementation of complex methodologies and reports. The ETL was implemented to receive data in HDFS from Oracle and SQL Server using SSIS, C#, Sqoop, Python and Airflow. Microservices were implemented using Docker containers and orchestrated with both DC/OS and Marathon. The Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for the project included IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio. The Code repository was supported by GitLab and Team Foundation Server (TFS). Unit and integration tests were implemented with Scala and executed as part of the development cycle. Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) were supported by Jenkins.

Scope: This project was the first BCD(?) Cloud re-platforming project in IQVIA Canada. It involved re-platforming an existing Mainframe/Oracle system into the Big Data Factory (BDF Cloud). The system was designed to process billions of transactions per month, causing a very demanding performance requirement. It was implemented in Spark with Scala code using a large distributed Hadoop cluster. The ETL was implemented to receive data in HDFS from Oracle and Mainframe using the company’s Enterprise Data Transfer (EDT) component and HttpFs. Microservices was implemented using Docker containers and orchestrated with DC/OS and Marathon. The Quality Assurance (QA) dashboard was developed in MicroStrategy. The Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for the project included IntelliJ IDEA. The Code repository was supported by GitLab. Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) were supported by Jenkins.

Scope: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The system included Oracle and SQL Server databases and processes. The ETL was implemented using multiple data suppliers. The system included data anonymization for the Protected Health Information (PHI) records, support for ad-hoc queries and a Cohort builder.

Responsible for the technical architecture and implementation of multiple data warehouse projects in Canada. Participated in integration projects during the merge of the two companies: Brogan Inc. and IMS Health. These projects merged different databases and programs from the two companies, while ensuring a minimum impact for clients. Worked in the team that designed and implemented the GPM12 product. GPM is one of the key products in the company. It involved two projects: the provincial prices (designed and implemented using Oracle 11g) and the claims data (designed and implemented in SQL Server 2008). Successfully oversaw and guided developers during all phases of the software development process. Worked on multiple projects using Oracle and SQL Server databases for the back-end, .NET Web services for the middle tier and ASP.NET for the front-end user interfaces.
