Ramish

Ramish and a group of colleagues founded PremierDev(https://www.premierdev.org/) to give back to the youth in Africa. The initial focus is on Cameroon in terms of hands-on practice in software development. Currently, graduates have started their own IT companies, and are interning in big companies like Google.

Sponsors include: Mastercard Foundation, The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Innovations, OpenDreams, and MIA (Model Initiative of Africa). They forecast an increase in the skill level and entrepreneurialism of the populace which comes as a result of our ambassadors, evangelist, and gradates kickstarting a technological revolution.

Used React, Redux, JavaScript, and MongoDB to build a sports eCommerce website.

Developed features for Kidzie (a global eCommerce site for kids). This included building RESTful APIs for promo codes, account management, products, and UI implementation.  As a result, developers would alternate roles some including customizing, conceptualizing, designing, developing, and managing features ultimately producing products and or deliverables. Had a smaller code base and faster application run times.

Technologies used: Node JS, MongoDB, Mongoose, React, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, GitLab all geared towards cross-platform (Android, web and desktop).

At Reach, Ramish worked on a diverse team to refactor an app to be a faster, modern UI with functionalities from Kidzie, a Kids eCommerce site. The team cohesion helped Kidzie improve in response time, processing time, and caching/ data saving.

As a startup, PanAfri had to be structured to optimize user interaction as it was meant to be used by young Africans who are not versed with technology, thence UI/UX was a critical aspect which at the time was the best option to outsource. Collaborated with developers in many iterations. Developed a platform that is now being used as a learning management system for high school and college students in Zimbabwe.

Accepted and built projects for hire

Example projects:

• Completed backend API including data management for a FoodApp geared towards Mobile and web. This project was built using Java, .NET, and SQL
• API design for an LMS( learning management system) using Java. Custom-designed the requirements, design, and implementation of the entire project. He wire-framed the app, another team member implemented it.
• Wire Frame an online classroom app geared for cross-platform (web, desktop, and mobile). This project was not seen to completion because of a lack of funding, and it was later canceled.

Developed software applications for both Government and private corporations. ID procurement system, FoodApp, Learning Management system. One project that stands out was a mobile gateway payment service (mobile-money) that linked Credit union accounts, bank accounts, and online accounts to make payment of goods and services easy using SMS.
