Josias is an experienced developer who has experience with research and development on full SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping), localization, sensor calibration, and motion planning algorithms as well as web application development. Josias has his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science.
Worked with a team on a large Android project. I removed some difficult bugs and added new features.
Worked on an open source project to add C# and F# as procedural languages to the PostgreSQL database.
Worked on a network management project for a USA company. I created some Python and Ansible scripts to manage their routers, firewalls and other devices from multiple vendors (+100k devices).
Working in a project from a non-profit organization on USA. We built an analytics platform to aggregate statistics from several social
networks (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc) and their related advertisement platforms (e.g. Google Ads and Facebook Ads).
Responsible for web applications and services development as well as Android application development.
Investigated mathematical models of smooth pursuit eye movements (SPEMs) available in the literature and I developed a new visual object tracking system that integrates usual tracking algorithms (OpenCV) and a custom SPEM computational model based on the Krauzlis-Lisberger work
Developed a new full SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) system capable of building larger environment maps in comparison with the IARA’s previous one, calibrating some sensors extrinsic and finding the odometry bias. The new system helped the team to accomplish the Guarapari Travel Project in which the autonomous vehicle successfully traveled 74km from the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (city of Vitoria – ES) to Guarapari.
Developed a reliable LiDAR odometry approach that improved the precision of the vehicle estimated poses as it takes care of most moving objects and sensor noise.
