Ivo is a Software Engineer with 18+ years of experience building web applications, ETL, BI, data mining solutions and even some desktop applications. Enjoys refactoring and optimization workloads and loves to explore new technologies. Evo can work in any technology but has preferences – Ruby, JavaScript, Java, C#, Clojure and Erlang/Elixir.
Hire IvoImplemented our agile workflow, based on a mix between ShapeUp and KanBan through Trello.
Built out CI/CD pipelines using CodeShip and deploying to Heroku.
Trained and Mentored software engineers.
Liaised with Business to define priorities and strategy.
Built a fully containarized working environment.
Software development, code reviewing, infrastructure management.

I helped design a reliable data ingestion solution able to handle large amounts of real estate data,
built integrations with third-party partners, helped deliver a world class Real Estate portal translated
in 13 languages, built email campaign tools.
Optimized the infrastructure to deal with considerable amounts of traffic and its variances allowing
not only considerable cost savings but performance boost at the same time.
Optimized the CI/CD infrastructure leveraging a code-as-infrastructure solution.
Also built and evolved our development environment tools allowing for better developer ergonomics
and a very fast on-boarding procedure.
Always keen to slay bugs and allow the remainder of the team to keep working on features while I
chase the bugs, the issues and the gnarly problems.

Helped define workflows, mentor new developers, reviewed all code and work being done.
My participation in Veeqo is a direct consequence of my previous work with ParcelBright – a startup
that unfortunately went down but Veeqo bought its software assets and asked me to provide some
help.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team with many different background experiences, I helped develop
solutions on multiple different technologies for a variety of customers.

LMIT’s flagship product, Wisemetering, is divided in both software (ruby on/and off rails) and
custom-made hardware (arduino-based).
I helped vastly optimize the performance of the software while allowing to minimize the effort
imposed on the hardware (which naturally had limited capabilities).
I helped create an appliance business model for the flagship product.
I helped build an API that would come to power a second product, a mobile solution for large
building management and maintenance.
I helped create a part-time remote scheduling scheme that would allow people to not always be at
the office while still requiring minimal overlap, making this my first remote work experience.
~Main Technologies Ruby, Rails, Backbone.js, jQuery, GO, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, XEN
~ Responsibilities Software development, architecture, team workflow, requirements, R&D
~ Methodologies KanBan, TDD
I helped a team of 8 developers to build and deliver a monitoring solution that would act as decisionsupport
for the various aspects of customer interaction – from monitoring webapps, mobile apps,
call centers, etc..
I architected and developed the data processing framework backing the system that would come
to handle and record 9 million events per hour and hold a very large volume of information.
I helped build and design a range of web-based, near-realtime apps that would deliver infographic
element like charts, KPI tables, sparklines, funnels and navigation trees powering from large video
walls to desktop machines or small mobile web views.
Being hard to recruit people with skills on the specific set of technologies we worked on, I was the
one responsible for mentoring and training all the elements on the team.

Before 2008, I’ve worked as an independent software provider, delivering simple desktop based
applications written mostly in Delphi (Object-Pascal) and C. Some of these solutions are still in
place being used daily.
I have modestly contributed so a small number of open-source projects and have released a couple
of things myself which you can see on my GitHub Profile: https://github.com/LynxEyes
I have also driven or helped other projects, sometimes for the pure fun of it, sometimes as a form
of giving back to the world and sometimes to help a friend in need, here is a list:
• Wordle – News and Articles text analyzer.
A Ruby on Rails app built around Elasticsearch to provide insights to marketeers on how
to market some brands and products.
• RealFevr – Fantasy football leagues
A Ruby on Rails powered Fantasy football leagues online game with a different twist to the
game using NBA-style drafts and one-on-one matches.
• Phisiodata – Physical therapy document management system
A Ruby on Rails document management system built as a pro-bono solution to assist
therapists to search documentation and news about their field of expertise.
• RealNatura – Natural products online store that helped create a business that employs
dozens of people today.
• GestLex – A mix between a CRM system and a Document Management System built to
help a law practice to handle their business, built on my early days as a developer on
technologies like C and Delphi, still being used to this day.
