Maintained CivicPlus’s Park and Recreation Management software which used an internally developed framework mainly based on Symfony’s Core and ORM. He was part of the refactoring of the Docker containers that were implemented to be able to add Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and OpCache.

He was in charge of leading and planning the development of the software for the Financial and Operations departments of the company, with a group of developers who are divided into 3 products.

• Cash-Management financial software, currently processing nearly 700k invoices in one day twice a month
• GeoLocation & Communications with the various service providers, Tow trucks, Plumbers, Locksmiths, etc.
• ERP-CRM that’s integrated with an Asterisk SIP to provide assistance via the company’s call center

Started as a Senior developer, and upon arrival, he noticed some quality-of-life improvements could be made regarding the way the code was being versioned and the way it was being deployed.  Improved the code versioning environment by using GitLab’s platform positively improving the development process.  Established DevOps policies, reducing the number of errors during the deployment to production and speeding up the time that took to do it from 2-3 hours to minutes instead.

• Designed and developed a replacement API for Google’s Geolocation services using OpenStreetMap’s data reducing the amount paid in Google services by 40%.
• Designed and developed the central RESTful API used for the communication between the internal software and the commercial Apps developed by the iOS/Android Teams allowing them to fetch data in a more secure and reliable way.
• Redesigned the old Invoice processing gateway, from taking 2 full days to process 100k invoices to less than 30 minutes by decoupling different processes to a microservice architecture with an orchestrator to handle the jobs.
