Felipe is a Senior Software Engineer with 8 years of professional experience in developing software and hardware for the mechanical and financial industries. Lately, he has been working heavily with migrating the ERP of a US national food distributor to the Web. He is an expert in .NET core with C# but he is proud of learning quickly and being able to code proficiently in a few languages. His main goal for the near future is to keep working remotely from Brazil and complete his master’s degree in data science.
At Madelabs, he’s been developing a logistics web ERP that includes a marketplace for natural foods. The client is a major natural food distributor from the US. He works mainly on the notification and the sales services and built the communication with other APIs e.g. Delivery Routing API using QT and HTTP. At peak, they expect to handle up to 10k users submitting orders manually. The app is hosted on AWS and he worked with SQS, SNS, RDS, S3, SES, and Lambda. It is written in C# with dotnet core 3.1, and the deployment is handled with Serverless framework.
At BP he was part of a small team of contractors that developed a data protection platform that complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The project was commissioned to process up to 2 TB of plain-text data per day and it was connected to around 1k apps and APIs that sent data to our platform to be protected. It was multi-cloud, mainly hosted on AWS and using Azure as a backup. The main services were SQS and
Lambdas, but the data protection engine used Spark. The main languages were C#, Scala, and Python.
Worked as a freelancer on the development of a crypto game back-end. Developed most of the non-critical services, e.g. sign in, sign up, create new user, notifications. During a launch day, the services that he wrote handled 100k+ simultaneous users flawlessly. The services he designed were based on a serverless AWS architecture using AWS lambdas written mainly in C# and Python, the database was DynamoDB.
At Credit Suisse, he joined a team of contractors that were hired to refactor their assets pricing app. The application was originally written by traders without computer science knowledge and the codebase was challenging to maintain as it lacked simple features that had to be included, e.g. unit tests, code versioning, and continuous integration.
The App was divided into two parts, with a dedicated server running the dotnet core backend and a client using WinForms.
At Brickabode he worked as a contractor for a few clients in the financial industry from the EU. One of the main projects he contributed to was the development of a platform that allowed institutional investors to enter the crypto-assets market. Although they did not expect thousands of concurrent users, the platform was commissioned to handle up to 5k transactions per minute. At BrickAbode, he had the experience to contribute as a product manager when one of our colleagues left a project in the middle of an Epic.

Mandatory engineering apprenticeship in the renewable energy industry. At GeoEnergy, he worked on more than 20 different hydropower and eolic plants projects as a designer and/or reviewer. Main contribution to the company was the improvement of internal processes by creating scripts and bots that automated more than 70% of my tasks, e.g., he created a script that calculated the optimum diameter of a penstock, this task was recurring, and it used to take more than 20 hours to be completed, now it takes no more than a few minutes.

Management of a small clothing factory and store with around 10 employees that was founded by hie family. He had the opportunity to control the company and move it out of debt to its most profitable time in 15 years. All of that was done during the worst recession that the Brazilian economy had ever faced.
Moved the company to digital (e-commerce and marketplaces); Changed the business model from B2B to B2C to access a market with higher profit margins; Changed the product mix to be able to aggregate more value in the manufacturing process and to increase profit margins; Enforced better quality standards by applying quality assurance methodologies; Modernized the factory by updating the machinery and integrating IT solutions to monitor productivity and quality control.
Design and development of a telemetry system for racing cars. The project used microcontrollers to acquire live data from moving cars and then transmitted the data with VHF, and the acquired data were processed and shown to a track engineer by a custom-made .NET desktop app.

Development and maintenance of an ERP for the electromechanical industry.
Main contribution to the project was to develop the integration with the Brazilian Federal Reserve and other government agencies. It allowed the users to acquire real-time data from trustworthy sources to base their business decisions. Developed statistical models that gave the production engineers tools to identify production bottlenecks, increase their productivity, and reduce their costs.
