Primary focus is to build global unopinionated cross-platform components along with CMS like components to handle typical things such as layouts, permissions, locale, etc. These components give to the ability to build sites and web apps at lightning speeds by only having to build micro-apps or micro-sites within different areas of the site/app that utilize these global style components so the same functionality doesn’t have to be repeated over and over.
This was a senior level front end role building out a new, better reporting system within the Rally agile project management application.
The front end is built in ReactJS using Highcharts (a javascript charting library). It was very important to insure the front end focused on accessibility, internationalization and cross browser compatibility (including IE11) as well as keeping similar functionality between the updated interface vs the legacy system so the extremely large client base would not have to be retrained. Some improvements were made such as additional parameters in the browser’s URL so specific reports with certain filters could be shared amongst users and improved responsiveness so charts resize based on the size of the browser. Outside of the assigned role, I also attended the Rally front end team meetings to present and discuss new opportunities for improvements which included building new components to be shared with the entire project management tool.
This was a principal lead role overarching a couple of scrum teams of 6-9 developers focused on the front end technology. Architected and developed a new front end application and components to replace an older system. Updates were improvements to the UX working closely with a UX designer and converting old technology to a React based single page app.
The function of the application was designed to assist pharmacists in communication between doctors, hospitals and patients. The primary benefit of the tool was prevention from prescribing meds that could cause harm to the patient due to allergies, incompatibilities with other meds they’re taking or other factors based on patient information presented from the app.
